On Sunday at 6.30 am, the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) successfully launched PSLV-C56 (PSLV-C56) from Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SDSC) SHAR, Sriharikota.
By thanking NSIL India and Singapore for the contract, ISRO notified that the PSLV-C56/DS-SAR Mission was successfully accomplished. PSLV-C56 vehicle launched all seven satellites precisely into their intended orbits.
This launch included six co-passenger satellites alongside the primary satellite, DS-SAR, which is a Radar Imaging Earth Observation satellite. The mission, PSLV-C56/DS-SAR, is dedicated to ST Engineering, Singapore, and NewSpace India Limited (NSIL) is overseeing the commercial aspect. According to ISRO, all satellites will be placed in a 535 km circular orbit with an inclination of 5 degrees.
This marks the 58th flight of PSLV and the 17th flight of PSLV in the Core Alone configuration. After deploying all the satellites, the upper stage of the rocket is placed in a lower orbit to reduce its orbital life, as confirmed by ISRO. The PSLV-C56 launch will take place from the First Launch Pad (FLP) at Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SDSC), Sriharikota.
The DS-SAR satellite is a joint development between DSTA (representing the Government of Singapore) and ST Engineering. Once operational, it will fulfill the satellite imagery needs of various agencies within the Government of Singapore.
DS-SAR, developed by ST Engineering, carries a Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) payload from Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI). It offers all-weather day and night coverage with 1-meter resolution and full polarimetry, serving ST Engineering's commercial customers with multi-modal and highly responsive imagery and geospatial services.
