A red alert was issued at Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport on Saturday after a bomb threat note was found written on a Vistara flight that came from Paris.

The Vistara flight UK 024, carrying 294 passengers and 12 crew members, landed safely at 10:19 after receiving a report from the crew that the threat note was scribbled on an airsickness bag at 10:08 AM while on the flight from Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport.

When asked about the security breach, Vistara Airlines responded that there was an issue and that the correct people were informed correctly. ”The flight has now landed at Mumbai airport and we are extending our full cooperation to all security agencies for all the necessary checks,” the airline spokesperson concluded.

This comes shortly after an IndiGo aircraft with registration number VT-IDA flying from Varanasi to Delhi received a bomb threat which was said to be a hoax by the police.

All passengers were evacuated from the Vistara aircraft safely and after that, the security personnel at the airport had a thorough search of the aircraft. This led to some of the normal operations at the airport being temporarily put on hold during the time of the emergency.

This threat has recently become very common whereby passengers receive threats of bombing in the aircraft causing a lot of inconvenience and insecurity. Such threats should not be made because they are considered true until one disproves them, which can only be done by using a lot of funds.

Police have opened an investigation to find out the source of the threat note that was found on the Vistara flight. The accused may also receive a string of legal repercussions in the event they are found guilty.
