The National Investigation Agency (NIA) conducted raids across Bihar, leading to the arrest of a suspect connected to the 2020 coal mine attack in Jharkhand. The suspect was found with Rs 1.3 crore, implicating him in terrorist activities. The investigation unveiled a network involved in extortion and other crimes.
The
National
Investigation Agency (NIA) initiated raids in Bihar, resulting in the
apprehension of a suspect linked to the assault on a coal mine in Jharkhand.
The operation, conducted across multiple locations, yielded substantial
evidence implicating the individual in terrorist activities.
During
the coordinated raids in Bhagalpur, Purnea, and Madhepura, the NIA confiscated
significant items, including firearms, mobile phones, and incriminating
documents. These seizures shed light on the intricate network involved in the
Jharkhand coal mine attack, implicating key individuals such as Sujit Sinha and
Aman Sahu.
The
investigation, which originated from a case reported at the Balumath police
station in December 2020, uncovered the extensive criminal activities
orchestrated by the Aman Sahu gang. The group's involvement ranged from
assaulting law enforcement officials to extorting funds from businesses and
contractors in Jharkhand.
Furthermore, the NIA's probe revealed the gang's connections with splinter Naxal factions and other criminal syndicates operating beyond Jharkhand's borders. The recent raids targeted associates involved in conspiracies to perpetrate acts of terrorism, with one such individual identified as Shankar Yadav from Bhagalpur.

Yadav's arrest, coupled with the seizure of Rs 1.3 crore, underscored the gang's involvement in illicit financial activities, particularly in the real estate sector. The NIA's takeover of the case in March 2021 resulted in the filing of three charge sheets against 24 accused individuals, highlighting the gravity of the offenses committed.
Among
the accused, Pramod Yadav's sheltering of wanted criminal Pradeep Ganjhu
further unraveled the extent of the criminal nexus operating across Bihar and
Jharkhand. The NIA's relentless pursuit aims to dismantle these networks and
ensure justice for the victims of terrorism and extortion.
