MK Vishwanathan, father of slain journalist Soumya Vishwanathan, passed away after her killers were sentenced to life imprisonment. Soumya Vishwanathan, passed away shortly after the sentencing of his daughter's
killers to life imprisonment. The 82-year-old breathed his last on December 9,
merely days after the court's verdict, which had been delayed due to his ill
health.
Throughout the exhaustive 14-year trial, both MK Vishwanathan and his wife, Madhavi Vishwanathan, had been a constant presence in the courtroom, diligently attending every legal proceeding. Despite health challenges, MK Vishwanathan persistently sought justice for their daughter, often leaning on a walking stick for support.
