Prime Minister Narendra Modi urged Maharashtra voters to re-elect the BJP-led Mahayuti alliance, accusing Congress of stalling development projects and promoting division. He criticized the opposition's stance on Article 370 and warned that MVA’s return to power would hinder Maharashtra’s growth trajectory.
In a recent address ahead of Maharashtra’s Assembly elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi sharply criticized the Congress-led Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA), claiming they are "experts in stalling development" and warning that the coalition's return to power would jeopardize Maharashtra's progress. Speaking in Chandrapur’s Chimur district, Modi emphasized that Congress possesses a “double PhD in obstructing projects” and urged voters to re-elect the BJP-led Mahayuti alliance to continue the state's rapid development.
Modi positioned the Mahayuti alliance, comprising the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Shiv Sena, and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), as Maharashtra's best chance for sustained growth and investment. He referred to the BJP’s “Sankalp Patra” manifesto as a “commitment to development,” contrasting it with the MVA, which he labeled “masters of corruption.” Modi argued that under Mahayuti’s governance, Maharashtra had flourished as a top investment destination despite facing opposition from the Congress and the MVA.
The Prime Minister also tackled social issues, alleging that Congress promotes division along caste lines, particularly within tribal communities, to secure political gain. He warned that this divisive strategy could harm marginalized communities, potentially threatening their unity and reservation rights.
Modi further criticized the Congress for its past support of Article 370, which granted special status to Jammu and Kashmir until its abrogation in 2019. Highlighting recent calls from opposition members for the article’s restoration, he urged Maharashtra’s voters to prevent Congress from "benefiting from violence and separatism."
