Faridabad Police apprehended Vipin Kumar, a 30-year-old gangster wanted in at least 12 robbery and theft cases, following a late-night shootout on Wednesday. Kumar, who had been out on bail and living under a false identity in Sector 77, Faridabad, sustained a gunshot wound to his leg during the encounter.

According to Assistant Police Commissioner (Crime) Aman Yadav, the shootout unfolded when a crime branch team intercepted Kumar’s vehicle near Chandila Chowk in Greater Faridabad after receiving a tip-off. When cornered after a brief chase, Kumar opened fire on the police, prompting them to retaliate in self-defense. He was subsequently overpowered and taken to a civil hospital for treatment.
