Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off six new Vande Bharat trains from Jharkhand, enhancing rail connectivity across India. The new routes include Tatanagar-Patna and Rourkela-Howrah. Vande Bharat, India’s indigenously designed semi-high-speed train, has set new standards for speed, safety, and efficiency, revolutionizing rail travel in the country.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off six new Vande Bharat trains from Tatanagar Junction in Jharkhand on Sunday, expanding India's high-speed rail network. The new routes are Tatanagar-Patna, Brahmapur-Tatanagar, Rourkela-Howrah, Deoghar-Varanasi, Bhagalpur-Howrah, and Gaya-Howrah. These semi-high-speed trains promise faster, safer, and more comfortable journeys, featuring advanced technology, such as Kavach safety systems, WiFi, and anti-virus features.
Vande Bharat trains are indigenously designed under the ‘Make in India’ initiative, offering enhanced luxury and efficiency to passengers. The first Vande Bharat train was inaugurated in 2019, and today, 54 trains are operating nationwide, having completed over 36,000 trips and carried more than 3.17 crore passengers.
