In the latest political turmoil, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi are entangled in a heated dispute stemming from a viral video. The video, captured during a yatra in Jharkhand, depicts Gandhi affectionately petting a dog and extending a biscuit to it.

However, the dog declines the offering, leading Gandhi to pass the 'rejected biscuit' to a Congress supporter nearby. This incident sparked a flurry of reactions on social media, with internet users drawing parallels to a previous episode involving Sarma and Gandhi.

Sarma, who was tagged in the video, seized the opportunity to revisit a past encounter where he and other Congress leaders were allegedly offered biscuits from the same plate that Gandhi's pet dog Pidi had eaten from. This incident served as a catalyst for Sarma's decision to depart from his former party.

Taking to social media, Sarma reinforced his stance, declaring, "Not only Rahul Gandhi but the entire family could not make me eat that biscuit." He reaffirmed his pride in being an Assamese and Indian, underlining his refusal to succumb to such gestures and ultimately resigning from the Congress party.

The online exchange intensified as users highlighted the perceived disrespect towards party workers and supporters, citing instances where party leaders equated them to dogs or offered them biscuits rejected by animals. The controversy underscores deeper tensions within the political landscape, fueling debates over leadership and party dynamics.
