The US has been playing the largest role as a global deterrent power against few countries and one of them is China. Recently, the US has made the strongest move to show dissatisfaction with the COVID outbreak from Wuhan.
US Shuts Funding to Wuhan Institute
The action has come as a penalizing move against the COVID outbreak from the Wuhan Institute laboratory. The US Department of Health and Human Services informed that it has begun a study in September 2023 to evaluate the liability of the laboratory linked with the COVID outbreak and on the basis of the report, the US has come up with this decision.
What Are The Repercussions?
This is the largest step that the US has ever taken in the field of biosafety practices. The Wuhan Institute can no longer deal with the US, either directly or even through a representative. The only option left with the Wuhan Institute is to challenge the suspension, however, it is unlikely that the lab will take such steps.
