Additionally, the pandemic has hindered progress towards the Triple Billion targets, which were introduced during the World Health Assembly in 2017.

 

Previously, Tedros expressed that the trajectory of the pandemic had been declining for over a year, recognizing that the majority of nations had successfully reverted back to their pre-Covid-19 lifestyles.
