Taking the floor in a fiery speech, the West Bengal BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari has called for the arrest of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and TMC (Trinamool Congress) party to be declared a terrorist organization. And so, this development comes days after the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) found a cache of arms and ammunition including foreign-made revolvers and explosives in the premises of suspended TMC leader Sheikh Shahjahan in Sandeshkhali.

Adhikari, who serves as the Leader of Opposition in the state assembly, criticised the TMC government sharply, with him charging Banerjee with sympathising with terrorists such as Sheikh. "I insist to arrest Mamata Banerjee and proclaim Trinamool Congress as a terrorist organization," told Adhikari in his statement to media.

He alleged that the seizure of items like RDX explosive and guns shows that they have been used in "heinous anti-national activities" by international terrorists. "The BJP leader holds Mamata Banerjee fully responsible for this incident," she added.

The CBI in the probe of the January incident of the attack on a ED team in Sandeshkhali seized three revolvers of foreign origin, one foreign pistol, an Indian revolver, a colt police revolver, a country-made pistol and more than 200 bullets of various calibers from Sheikhs premises on Friday.

TMC leader Kunal Ghosh has come up with the version of the CBI findings that are all planted ammunition to create disruptions just before the panchayat elections amidst ongoing conspiracy. "It might be our opponents or some of political parties have concealed weapons," was his defendant.

There were violent protests in the Sandeshkhali township earlier this year as Sheikh, now arrested, was accused by the local villagers of sexual harassment and land grabbing. Shiv Sena had expelled him for six years because of the chaos that has ensued.

Now, the political brawl gets more spicy when the CBI's arms-recovery adds fuel to the BJP's fire throwing allegations against the state government for protecting separatists within Trinamool Congress.
