Delhi has been rocked by three shooting incidents over two days, targeting a sweet shop, hotel, and luxury car showroom, all linked to extortion rackets. The attackers left notes demanding protection money, and police have launched an investigation. These incidents highlight the growing menace of organized crime in the capital.
Delhi has witnessed three firing incidents over the past two days as unidentified shooters targeted various businesses, including a sweet shop, hotel, and luxury car showroom, raising concerns about extortion and law and order in the city.
The latest incident occurred when masked gunmen fired three to four rounds at 'Roshan Halwai,' a sweet shop in Sultanpur Mor, Nangloi, shattering windows. A note naming “Deepak Boxer Bhai, Ankesh Lakra Bhai, and Vishal Bhai” was left at the scene, suggesting a dispute over protection money paid to local gangsters.
Earlier, two armed men on motorcycles fired at the main entrance of Impress Hotel in South Delhi’s Mahipalpur. Although the shooting did not target any individuals, the assailants fired five to six bullets before fleeing.
Another attack targeted a second-hand luxury car showroom in West Delhi’s Naraina. The shooters fired more than two dozen bullets inside and outside the premises, with a note demanding ₹5 crore in protection money found at the scene. CCTV footage shows the gunmen firing at cars and threatening a customer and an employee.
