A rapid increase in the number of dengue cases in Kanpur and its neighbouring areas has prompted the city's health department to raise concerns.
A specialized ward specifically for dengue patients has been established within the premises of Kanpur's largest government hospital, Ursula. At least three individuals with dengue have already been admitted to this facility.
Dr. Shailendra Tiwari, the Chief Medical Superintendent and Deputy Director of Ursula Hospital has reported, "Due to fluctuations in weather, dengue patients are continuously increasing.”
While giving out the details, he stated, “At present, three patients have been admitted to Ursula Hospital, two in Kashiram Hospital, one in Ghatampur and one in Sarsaul and their treatment is going on."
Tiwari further informed, "At present all dengue patients are said to be out of danger." On Thursday, the count of dengue-positive patients surged to 28.
Similarly, Varanasi has also been witnessing a huge inflow of patients, with both government and private hospitals seeing a significant increase in the number of people seeking medical care.
Dr. Shashibhushan Upadhyay, the Senior Physician at Kabir Chaura Divisional Hospital, stated, "People are being instructed by the hospital administration to be careful, but the number of dengue patients in the hospitals is increasing."
He further added, "Most of the patients in the Divisional Hospital of Varanasi are kept under mosquito nets so that the infection does not spread to other patients in the hospital."
