In a groundbreaking step towards gender inclusivity, the Indian Air Force announced the participation of women Agniveer Vayu soldiers in the upcoming Republic Day parade. Simultaneously, French President Emmanuel Macron confirmed his attendance as the chief guest for India's 75th Republic Day celebrations on January 26.

In a remarkable stride towards gender equality, the Indian Air Force unveiled plans to feature women Agniveer Vayu soldiers in its Republic Day contingent. The move, showcasing empowerment, signifies a significant shift in traditional military representation. These soldiers, part of the Agnipath scheme initiated in September 2022, will contribute four years of service to the nation's Armed Forces. Following this, those selected will continue as regular cadre, committing to an additional minimum of 15 years in service. Their terms align with those of Junior Commissioned Officers/Other Ranks in the Indian Army, Indian Navy, Indian Air Force, and Non-Combatants in the Indian Air Force, subject to evolving service conditions.
