Guinness World Record for 42 Lakh Essays on Lachit Borphukan: Assam CM Receives Certificate of World Record

Himanta Biswa Sarma, Assam CM has been awarded a Certificate of World Record for holding the maximum number of essays written about one individual. He received the certificate from the representatives of Guinness World Records Ltd, marking the 400th birth anniversary of the great Ahom general Lachit Borphukan. As a record-breaking accomplishment, 42 lakh essays on Lachit Borphukan, a key figure in Assam's history were written. The program was introduced in February 2022 as part of a year-long festival in Guwahati honoring the legendary Ahom general Lachit Borphukan. Lachit Borphukan The program attempted to celebrate Lachit Borphukan's samadhi and maintain the cultural tradition of Assam. A 150-foot-tall bronze statue of Lachit Borphukan is also being developed this year to pay him tribute. In addition, the government announced an essay-writing campaign in November to encourage people to express their opinions on Lachit Borphukan. 42 lakh essays were submitted as part of the program, which attracted participants from all around the country. “A photo book of handwritten letters will be made available to everyone in the state”, CM Himanta Biswa Sarma announced. This program will assist in preserving Lachit Borphukan's heritage and encourage upcoming generations to discover the fascinating history of Assam. With the encouragement of the CM and his government, the people of Assam were able to accomplish a magnificent accomplishment that would be remembered in history and serve as an example for future generations to celebrate their cultural heritage.
