Significant rainfall patterns are expected in Tamil Nadu, according to a weather forecast released by the regional meteorological center. Heavy precipitation is forecast for 16 districts of the state on Thursday, with more showers expected in some locations over the next few days.

The data from the meteorological center indicates that on Thursday, heavy rain is likely in the districts of Cuddalore, Villupuram, Ariyalur, Perambalur, Kallakurichi, Tiruchirapalli, Salem, Namakkal, Erode, Nilgiris, Dharmapuri, Pudukottai, Thanjavur, Tiruvarur, Nagapattinam, and Mayiladuthurai. This outlook suggests that these areas may see weather with significant consequences.

In addition, the forecast from the meteorological centre includes rain for several areas on Friday. Several locations in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry are forecast to receive significant precipitation on Friday, including Cuddalore, Villupuram, Chengalpattu, Kancheepuram, Vellore, Ranipet, Tirupattur, Tiruvannamalai, and Kallakurichi.

The weather system responsible for these conditions is attributed to a trough extending from South Interior Karnataka to the Comorin area across interior Tamil Nadu. Additionally, a cyclonic circulation over the southern interior of Karnataka and its neighboring regions contribute to the ongoing weather patterns.

The outlook for Thursday evening and night in Chennai calls for a chance of light to moderate rain, with thunderstorms and lighting. Wednesday will see the maximum temperature of the week at 38.4 degrees Celsius, with the rest of the state hovering between 26 and 37 degrees Celsius.
