Karnataka's Health Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao on Friday slammed Delhi’s mohalla clinic and raised concerns about the efficacy of the same.

He was accompanied by Saurabh Bharadwaj, the Delhi Health Minister while he was visiting the park. Meanwhile, Bharadwaj clarified that the visit aimed to enhance Karnataka's 'Namma Clinics, offering free primary health care to residential neighbourhoods.

Rao's comments quickly became ammunition for the opposition, particularly Leader of Opposition in the Delhi Legislative Assembly, Ramvir Singh Bidhuri, who accused the Karnataka Health Minister of exposing falsehoods about mohalla clinics. This put the AAP, part of the INDIA alliance with Congress, in an awkward position.

In response, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal tried to downplay the situation, welcoming Rao and stressing the potential for mutual learning between the two governments.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) capitalised on the opportunity to question opposition unity, with Bidhuri alleging that the incident revealed divisions and contradictions within the opposition ranks. He pointed out that the incident underscored how Kejriwal and Congress were at odds, casting doubts on their claims of a united front.

The aftermath of the visit continues to reverberate in the political landscape, with parties offering their interpretations of the state of healthcare facilities and the status of cooperation among opposition parties. The incident adds fuel to the already charged debate about mohalla clinics and the overall healthcare scenario in the country.
