DUSU, ABVP, NSUI

In the Delhi University Students’ Union (DUSU) elections, the ABVP, which is affiliated with the RSS, continued its dominance by securing three key central panel positions, including the presidency. In contrast, the NSUI, the student wing of the Congress, managed to secure one position. These elections hold special significance as they took place after a four-year gap and come just ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections scheduled for early next year.

BJP leaders called the victory of ABVP, the victory of Nation First Ideology.

The voting for these elections occurred on Friday, with the votes being counted on Saturday. The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) candidates Tushar Dedha, Aparajita, and Sachin Baisla secured the positions of president, secretary, and joint secretary, respectively. On the other hand, Abhi Dahiya from the National Students’ Union of India (NSUI) emerged victorious as the vice-president.

The ABVP’s continued dominance in DUSU is seen as a reflection of their strength and influence among the student community, while the NSUI’s win provides a noteworthy balance in the university’s student politics. These results add an interesting dimension to the political landscape, setting the stage for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

Amit Shah, Union Minister, talked about the DUSU elections. He said that their win, where they got three out of four important positions, shows that young people trust their idea of putting the country first. After the election, Shah posted on X (formerly Twitter) that he hopes the elected members will work hard to keep the values of Swami Vivekananda and the spirit of loving the country alive among young people.
