Dubai siblings Jainam and Jivika Jain purchased the JioHotstar domain from a Delhi developer after Reliance Industries declined his offer. The children used funds collected during their "Seva journey" in India, aiming to support his education and inspire others. The domain remains open for future positive missions.
In a surprising development, 13-year-old Jainam Jain and 10-year-old Jivika Jain, siblings from Dubai, have acquired the domain JioHotstar.com. Initially owned by an anonymous app developer from Delhi, the domain was originally put up for sale to Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) for a little over one crore INR. The developer, who had invested in the domain to fund an executive MBA at Cambridge University, sought to benefit from the rumored merger between Jio Cinema and Hotstar.
However, Reliance declined the developer’s initial offer. Rather than abandoning his plans, the developer ultimately sold the domain to the Jain siblings. The children, who were inspired by their “Seva journey” in India, shared that they were moved to support the developer's educational aspirations. They had spent their recent holiday teaching underprivileged children and collecting donations, which they used to fund the purchase.
Jainam and Jivika updated the domain with a message highlighting their mission to inspire others through acts of kindness and entrepreneurship. They also expressed interest in keeping the domain available for future buyers who share similar positive motives.
