Security Tightened in Haryana's Nuh as Authorities Deny Permission For 'Shobha Yatra' Amid Tensions

In response to rising tensions, security measures in Haryana's Nuh and surrounding areas have been significantly reinforced, as authorities have denied permission for a 'Shobha Yatra' proposed by the Sarv Jatiya Hindu Mahapanchayat.


Despite the refusal of permission, security personnel, including paramilitary forces, have been deployed to maintain strict vigilance. Furthermore, security has been bolstered at inter-state and inter-district borders.


Haryana
Security tightens in Nuh, Haryana, as authorities refuse permission for a 'Shobha Yatra' following past violence, deploying personnel and suspending mobile internet.

Haryana's Chief Minister, Manohar Lal Khattar, reiterated that permission had not been granted for the 'yatra,' emphasizing the state government's responsibility to uphold law and order, particularly in the wake of recent violence in Nuh.


The decision to deny permission was attributed to two primary concerns: firstly, the upcoming meeting of the G20 Sherpa Group scheduled for Nuh from September 3 to 7, and secondly, the need to preserve law and order following the violence that occurred on July 31.


To prevent the spread of potentially incendiary information, the government has suspended mobile internet services from August 26 to 28. Additionally, educational institutions and banks will remain closed on the day of the proposed 'Shobha Yatra.'


Shobha Yatra
In response to rising tensions, security measures in Haryana's Nuh and surrounding areas have been significantly reinforced, as authorities have denied permission for a 'Shobha Yatra' proposed by the Sarv Jatiya Hindu Mahapanchayat.

In Nuh, a substantial police presence is evident, with 1,900 Haryana Police personnel and 24 paramilitary companies deployed. Access to Nuh has been restricted, with all entry points sealed and roads leading to the Malhar temple closed.


The Vishva Hindu Parishad, while vowing to proceed with the procession, has argued that no permission is necessary for such religious events.


In a bid to ensure a peaceful outcome, the district administration has imposed Section 144 of the CrPC, prohibiting the assembly of four or more people in an area until Monday.


Lastly, in a related development, Ferozepur Jhirka MLA Mamman Khan has been summoned to join an investigation regarding the July 31 violence in Nuh, following accusations from some Hindu organizations of making provocative statements.
